March is the month where we celebrate many things including Mother's Day and International Women's Day so I thought it appropriate to feature some inspiring mums and we'll be showcasing them throughout March - hope you enjoy the "March of Inspiring Mums" series!
Today we'll be featuring the sister duo of Estelle Keeber and Leona Burton, the cofounders of Mums in Business Association (MIBA) - a place where Mums from all over the World come together to learn, support each other and network. They not only run their business but have 7 children between them and have also just launched their second book "Mumpreneur on Fire".
1. Tell me a little about yourself and how you got into the job you’re now doing?
Leona – I'm a mum to 5 children and wife to Lee. I have a background in all sorts of business from owning a boutique to an MLM (multi-level marketing) business.
Estelle - I'm a solo parent to Jed and Obi. For the last 3 years I have been running a successful wedding photography business.
We created MIBA as we knew that, as being mums in business ourselves, we needed more support and it really just wasn’t there!
Tell me one interesting fact about you?
Estelle – My sons both have webbed toes!
Leona – My uncle is Engleburt Humpadink
Please can you share 3 tips for managing the juggle of motherhood, life and business?
1. Manage your time the best you can
2. Prioritise what is most important
3. Make time to relax everyday!
What’s the best piece of advice you could give a new mum?
The sleepless nights won't last forever...even though it may seem like it sometimes!
And always trust your gut when it comes to your own baby!
Colour can make a real difference to our mood - what’s your favourite colour? And how does it make you feel when you wear it?
Estelle – I'm a black kinda girl, something nice and simple!
Leona – I love red! Something bright and empowering!
What’s your favourite activity to do with your children?
Estelle - We love to read, do crafts and bake
Leona – I love to watch the boys competing in Rugby matches and Enna is training really hard at Drama School...I love to help her practice her lines!
What do you like to do for some me-time?
Estelle – I love to meditate. It really gives me time to relax my mind and re-focus on me!
Leona – I love getting a regular manicure. Having gorgeous nails does great things for your mindset!
Ladies you are doing incredible things! With two Number 1 books on Amazon, a community of over 14,000 mums in business, let alone looking after your families - you are an inspiration!
